Somló is a special, unique place with its wines and atmosphere. The special volcanic soil, the weather and the local grape species give us wines which cannot be reproduced anywhere else in the world. Tornai Winery is 75 years old this year, making it the oldest continuously operating family estate in Somló. Endre Tornai started working in 1946 on fewer than two Hungarian acres and the winery has 70 hectares of land today. Their wines achieve outstanding positions at high-ranking international and Hungarian competitions every year. They have won the Trophy of the International Wine Challenge in London – the most carefully judged wine competition in the world – four times.

This wine is produced from the carefully selected and gently processed grapes of Aranyhegy Vineyard. Fermentation in barrels enriches its taste to create this special, limited item. Somlói juhfark is the perfect match for the grape and the wine region. This grape mediates the speciality of the hill most perfectly and the character of juhfark also appears most beautifully in this wine region. The result is a complex, inimitable wine rich in minerals.
